MNS’s objective is to get Malaysians and those residing in the country exposed to and informed about the nature and natural history of the country. From our inception in 1940, we have been actively involved with natural development and conservation issues.

We have always strived towards contributing our views and assistance to governments, whether Federal or State, in pursuit of a better environment and setting the foundations for the conservation and sustainable management of natural biotic resources o f the country. We subscribe to the principle that there can be conservation with development.

With the advent of the computer age, I hope we will be able to disseminate information and share our initiatives all over this electronically borderless world. We need to remember our responsibility towards the environment and work towards ensuring that our children inherit a better world.

Finally, let me congratulate volunteers from the Selangor branch of the society for putting together the website and promoting the society’s goals to the world’s Internet community.
